SUMMER PROJECT 2020 – CALL
Call for participants for the international theatre summer project
Continuo Theatre will organize an international summer project in Malovice, (Czech Republic) from 13th July to 16th August 2020.
To participate the project we invite actors, performers, dancers, visual artists and musicians
who have artistic experience (art school studies, theatre group membership, personal projects), and sincere interest to participate the project.
*Please note that Divadlo Continuo is aware that these days are challenging and full of uncertainty. We are posting this open call with the hopes that we will be able to invite, both local and international artists, to collaborate with us for our annual Summer Project. We intend to stay up to date and follow all government regulations, thus with the uncertainty of the upcoming months the number of performances (approximately 6-8) may adjust slightly according to government guidelines. We encourage you to apply anyways, and have our fingers crossed that we will work together in July & August! BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROJECT
Creative process
The basic philosophy of the summer project is to facilitate a creative and international meeting of theatre-makers with different approaches. The summer project is an exchange of creative practices, an encounter between Continuo’s approach to movement, devising and pedagogy, as well as the individual creativity and background brought by each participant. The group of participants will live and work together for one month both in the Plum Yard and in a nearby non-theatrical location. These sites, and the meeting of the participants, will act as inspiration for creative exchanges, which will result in a performative installation open to the public, from 6 to 13 August, 2020.
The performances
The performance is based on the result of movement, voice and visual arts workshops, which will take place during the first week of the project at the Plum Yard. The workshops and the following creative process will be lead by the members of Continuo Theatre under the supervision of Pavel Štourač.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
We are interested in hearing from artists with interest, energy and endurance, willing to work and share artistic visions in the group, with enthusiasm to create together and desire to discover new creative possibilities, to offer, to try and to learn. Considered the demanding and high level of the training, good physical and mental state are required. The work will be intensive throughout the whole period and will take place not only indoor but also outdoor. The participants must be committed for the whole duration of the project.
FINANCIAL CONDITIONS
The participants will only pay for food and living costs fee 6500 CZK (260 Euro), and they will cover their own travel expenses to Malovice and back. Cooking, accommodation and local transport connected with the project will be provided by the company.
APLICATION
Participants of the project will be selected according to their application form, CV, motivation letter (please provide all materials in English).
Video documentation of previous experiences is required for performers and dancers, audio recordings for musicians. For visual artists and stage designers, please send us a small sample of your work
